Hi there! I’m Qianshuo Ye (Chinese: 叶千硕), and you can also call me Harry. I’ve recently graduated from Selwyn College, University of Cambridge with a Master of Engineering (MEng) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Information and Computer Engineering.

For my MEng project, I was fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Bill Byrne at the Machine Intelligence Laboratory, Cambridge University Engineering Department, where I invesitigated the implicit visual grounding of Vision-Language Models in chart question answering. Currently, I am working with Prof. Difan Zou at the School of Computing and Data Science, University of Hong Kong, exploring new frontiers in Mechanistic Interpretability.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in artificial intelligence, with a primary focus on explainable AI. I am also fascinated by computational neuroscience, especially how insights from the brain can inspire new architectures for learning and memory. Beyond these, I am also intrigued by the development of models with abstract reasoning capabilities and AI alignment.

Beyond Research

I am a music lover and enjoy a wide range of genres, from classical to jazz and rock. I play the cello and bass guitar, and occasionally dabble with the guitar. Outside of music, I also enjoy running, cycling, hiking and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen :)
